FAQ

Q: Do I have to be part of an a cappella group to participate in this event?

A: Anyone who enjoys music can participate in the Festival, regardless of group affiliation. Of course, if you hope to perform, you will probably want to have a group with you (unless you do live looping). There is plenty to learn at LA/AF for solo vocalists, beatboxers, composers, and aspiring producers -- absolutely anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the event. If you just love a cappella, you can enjoy the behind the scenes panel discussions and vocal performances throughout the day.

Q: Is a ticket for the evening concert included with the day pass?

A: Yes. When you register online for the daytime activities, we will set aside your complementary ticket to the evening performance.

Q: How can my group qualify for the group rate?

A: If you have at least eight members of your group attending the festival, you qualify. It's that simple! Simply select "group" when registering and enter the number of members attending in the field provided.

Q: Will there be food available at LA/AF?

A: Yes, LA/AF will feature many food selections, from snacks to full meals, throughout the day. If you feel like a bite between classes or decide to take a break from the workshops, stop by one of our tables.

Q: Can my group perform at the Festival?

A: It is important to us that every group that wants to, has the opportunity to share their music at the L.A. A Cappella Festival. However, due to high attendance, we cannot guarantee everyone a performance slot. Performance slots will granted on a first come, first served basis, so sign up today!

Q: Is photopgraphy/video recording allowed at the Festival?

A: UCLA requires a special permit to make video recordings on its campus. For this reason, and out of respect for our instructors, we ask that you do not make video recordings at the Festival. Photography, as long as it's not disruptive, is fine.
