The Los Angeles A Cappella Festival is proud to announce its 2010 line-up: L.A. vocal sensation, m-pact, and Sonos, a fresh, new group, already making waves in the national music scene.
Heralded by the San Francisco Chronicle as "one of the best pop-jazz vocal groups in the world," m-pact has wowed audiences across the globe with their tight blend and vocal acrobatics. M-pact has shared the stage with superstars like Sheryl Crow, Babyface, and Ray Charles as well as world-renowned groups like Take 6 and Boyz II Men. M-Pact is a former Grand National Champion of the Harmony Sweepstakes and was named Vocal Group of the Year in 2005 at the LA Music Awards.
Recently signed with Verve Records, Sonos has bright prospects ahead of them. Assembled from the some of the best singers in the Southern California collegiate a cappella community, Sonos is best known for their interpretive covers of indie artists--like Rufus Wainwright, Imogen Heap, and Magnet. Produced by Christopher Harrison, Hugo Vereker, and Gabriel Mann, their most recent album "Sings" features a guest appearance from the celebrated Sara Bareilles, former member of UCLA's Awaken A Cappella. In addition to performing in the evening concert, both m-pact and Sonos will be fielding questions and instructing festival-goers in panel discussions.
Mark your calendars now: LA/AF 2010 promises to be an incredible day of music, learning, and entertainment!

The Los Angeles A Cappella Festival is excited to announce a partnership with the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America (CASA).
CASA was formed to create a community between singers and fans of contemporary a cappella. There are thousands of contemporary a cappella groups across the US and the world, ranging from high school and college ensembles to professionals and recreational groups. CASA provides help, guidance, advice, coaching, information, events, recordings, grants, workshops, critique, awards, arrangements, and instructional videos to these singers.
"The aim of the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival is to promote vocal music throughout Southern California" says Ross Morey, LA/AF Executive Director. "Our partnership with CASA only seems natural since our goals align so closely."
Joining efforts to serve the L.A. vocal community, LA/AF and CASA will have the opportunity to support each other's missions through cross promotions Ð including added benefits to CASA members, like LA/AF discounts, and further promotion of the Festival through CASA's well-developed network of singers and a cappella appreciators.
